LiNER NOTES

“If you want to dig deeper, it’s nice to have it.”

JACK WHITE

I’m watching a video on YouTube. Jack White is being interviewed by Tom Power and mentions the loss of texture within the production of today’s music. He says, It’s almost to clean, stripped of everything but the essentials, and seems too lose its soul. Later in the interview, he reminisces about the days when music lovers would pick up an album, a tape, a CD and It wasn’t just cover art. “You had packaging and information about the tracks and the artists and instruments involved.” Jack says the words “liner notes” and my mind lights up!

I’d had this question, should I include a blog along with this website, and It’d been knocking around my head for way too long. Not any more. My mind is made- and so it begins.

Asher Emerson

Asher Emerson is an American artist currently residing in Chandler, Arizona. Born in 1976 and raised in rural Illinois, he grew up searching for alternative views of the world, expressing himself in the subcultures of skateboarding and punk rock.

Asher currently works from his studio/shop space located in Tempe, Arizona where, for the last decade, he’s created two artistic businesses, side by side, exercising his creativity in tattooing and custom automotive painting. It’s the narrowing of his focus within these fields that his artwork emerges.

His works are heavily influenced by his research of the Japanese tattoo and along with his hand as a pinstriper Asher began experimenting with non-traditional tools and techniques for art making. Exploring the world of iconography and symbolism and its role in identity.
