Asher Emerson is an American artist currently residing in Phoenix, Arizona. Born in 1976 and raised in rural Illinois, he grew up searching for alternative views of the world, expressing himself in the subcultures of skateboarding and punk rock.
Asher currently works from his studio and shop space located in Tempe, Arizona where, for the last decade, he’s created two artistic businesses, side by side, exercising his creative talents- tattooing and pinstriping. It’s the narrowing of his focus within each of these realms that his artwork emerges.
Using designs he’s developed which are heavily influenced by his research of the Japanese tattoo along with his hand as a pinstriper, Asher began experimenting with non-traditional tools and techniques for art making. Exploring the world of iconography and symbolism and its role in myth making.
